Highlights this month include:

Yesterday was Aidan's first ever trip to the beach. It's so weird how quickly my life has changed, I've gone from being an independent working woman to someone who sits on the couch most of the day breastfeeding. It's hard for me to be so housebound and I can't wait until I'm allowed to drive again. I feel fine and don't really have any after effects of the c section but Craig won't let me lift a finger unless it's to look after Aidan. I love my little boy so much that I can't stop taking pictures of him, you can probably tell by the expression on his face what he thinks of his mother's fondness for sticking a camera in his face and blinding him with the flash, oh well he'll get used to it.

Adele worked mighty hard to bring this sweet joy into the world. He is beautiful. Both Adele and Craig are obviously smitten and Aidan seems to have a very peaceful disposition.

Never Work With Children and Animals

Yesterday was quite a day starting at 6am when the cats started going crazy and running around the house. Thinking nothing of it I ignored them for as long as possible until while I was on the phone with my Mum Shadrach appeared from behind the dvd player with a mouse in his mouth. Even worse he then put it down and it ran away!!!!! For the next hour I moved furniture and chased the cats as they chased the mouse trying to get them all outside. My mum was still on the phone to me for much of this time and found the whole thing very amusing, thanks Mum. Finally they caught the mouse and I got them out the door then when I went to go to work they were still sat there at the door with this mouse (still alive) trying to give it to me again. Why can't they bring me flowers or chocolates? No all I get is mice, birds and worms.

Then I got to work and had to take Storytime which involved entertaining a group of 31/2 to 5 year olds. Added to that I feel like I'm the size of a house and haven't slept properly in what feels like forever. Suffice to say yesterday was a day full of laughter and trials and I wouldn't have changed a thing.

My sister is weird (she prefers to be called freakily unique) one of her weird things is an over fondness/obsession with strollers (prams if you're English). So as requested here is the most likely candidate for our stroller, we are going for this one as it is compatible with the car seat that Shelley gave us, that isn't the car seat in the picture though which is weird but I'm glad as our car seat is much nicer.

So Karen does it get the seal of approval? If not then well it's kinda tough as we're on a tight budget and this way we only need to buy the stroller and not the whole travel system.

Craig and I have been having a slight disagreement about the kind of fridge we wanted, I wanted one with a bottom freezer and he wanted a side by side with a water dispenser in the door. Today as we were changing over our social insurance numbers we went next door into the Brick and saw this on sale it has the side by side fridge at the top with the water dispenser and then the freezer pulls out at the bottom- PERFECT!!!!!!! We had seen these before but they were always over $3000 which was way too pricey for a fridge but this one was the last one they had and they were practically giving it away and we got a 5 year warranty thrown in as well.

Life is pretty hectic right now as I'm making lots of decisions about what I want in the house. We did have some good news last week as we found out that the cysts on our baby's brain have now gone completely and it has a clean bill of health. Craig is busy working on the house as I really want to move in at the end of April and so he's trying his best, I'm such a demanding wife. Another thing thatg is making life fun at the moment is my mood swings, I just have competely irrational emotions all the time so I'm either bursting with happiness or I want to cry for no reason. Yes life is full right now.

Going For Gold 2028

My baby is in training already for the 2028 Olympic Games and judging by the amount of activity in my uterus these past few days it's going for gold in the decathlon. It started the day of the ultrasound on Thursday when the ultrasound tech called my baby awkward (thanks!) as it wouldn't stay still for two seconds for her to get a decent picture of anything. Luckily all is going well with baby Meadow and I'm now 20 weeks and counting. Since the baby was called awkward on Thursday though it has taken exception to this comment and has been making me pay for it ever since, seriously the thing just doesn't stay still. I'm kinda glad it's making it's presence felt however as my nausea has pretty much stopped now so at least I have some symptom to reassure me that all is going well. As the nausea stopped the munchies began and I seem to be unable to eat enough food to satisfy my body oh well the weight loss was nice while it lasted, it's back to reality now.

We just got back from the US and we are now officially landed immigrants to Canada. It was actually easier than we expected as the US border guys just gave us a piece of paper saying we didn't want to go into the US so we could just turn around in the car park. Obviously first they made us drive into the garage and get out of the car while they searched it and we were taken into the office (Craig put his hands in his pockets because it was -10 and they freaked out, they seemed to think we were gun runners or something). I don't think we've ever been through a border or security check without being searched, we must look seriously shifty.

So we drove through the border and turned right back round and came through the Canada side, it's so different everyone is really friendly. They told us to park up and go see the immigration officer and half an hour and a whole load of paperwork later we were officially welcomed to Canada. We still had to do the whole customs thing which was funny as we'd not actually been anywhere. The customs guy thought it was weird that we'd originally moved to Canada with just one suitcase each, apparently we're entitled to ship a whole load of stuff over but we don't have anything, So we became Canadian residents with a grand total of $70 in our pockets and the clothes on our backs, it was a special moment.

And that is our day so far, oh and I've only thrown up once this morning in case you're eeping track.

I seem to exist in a permanent haze these days, mostly due to the fact that I seem unable to sleep at night and am forced to flick through lame tv channels for endless hours. I'm either becoming nocturnal or the hormones are really messing my system up!

I'm not going to ask anyone to delurk as my blog bores me too much to write on it so I certainly don't expect anyone but the most loyal of friends to read it.

In news this week the baby is doing great and is growing well, although the doctor says I'm only 16 weeks not 18 weeks as the ultrasound tech said so my picture was misleading. In other good news I've now lost 13lbs since getting pregnant so only 34lbs more to reach my goal weight, why did no one ever mention the weight loss potential of having a baby? I got a sweet 24hour bug this week courtesy of my hubby and Christy's husband Dustin thanks guys, I swear they spend more time hanging out at my house than they do at work. This morning I took my friend's 9 month old twins to rhyme time at the library, it was certainly an experience! Sadie hated it, there were way too many people and she just freaked out the whole time, Jonah was fine and just sat there taking it all in, I'm not sure if I'll attempt it again next week it depends on how brave I'm feeling, thank goodness we're not having twins!!!!!!

We're hoping to go to the states tomorrow and come straight home again so we can finally become permanent residents of Canada. We had a minor crisis this week when my passport went missing, we freaked out as it's kinda a big deal when it has your visa in it and you're in a country that isn't technically your own. We tore every inch of our little home apart in vain for days with no luck and finally resigned ourselves to the fact that it was gone. We prayed and got friends to pray and yesterday Craig rang me at work to say my passport was just lying in one of the cubes we use to store dvds. The fact that we had both torn those things apart at least 5 times with no luck made it a little surprising but it just goes to show that pray is answered no matter how small a matter it might seem.

I think I've now purged myself of all the stuff I have to say plus it's time for my nap, oh I have a hard life I know.

I had it all planned so well - this year I was getting all my nieces and nephews gift vouchers for Toys R Us from the uk website. So I went onto the site on Saturday all ready to order them only to find that I couldn't so I tried 4 other stores all the same there seems to be a new policy in the UK preventing people with overseas visa cards from ordering online. This sucks as it's now too late to buy something over here and mail it as it won't arrive in time. I officially suck! Oh well I'll have to go shopping after Christmas and buy them all stuff to send over in January they can have a belated Christmas from Auntie Del and Uncle Craig.

Everyday I go it looks totally different today they're building the forms for the footings and by the endof the week we might have foundation walls 8ft high which is exciting apparently!

My last set of swimming lessons was cancelled due to a lack of demand so they transferred me to the new set due to start at the beginning of November. I called today to check that they still had me on the list and I was told that there were only 2 of us signed up and they need at least 4 so this set might be cancelled as well. I may have to move out to the Prairies (can I come live with you Jen?) i don't imagine there is much water out there.

I just got a call from the library offering me the position I wanted as Assistant Community Librarian for Summerland. I'm so happy as I was a little worreid at the prospect of being unemployed. My new job will only be part-time but it's what a really want to do so it's fantastic.

So I was supposed to go shopping on Wednesday evening, the new store in town The Suburban Princess had a special evening preview of their holiday clothes. I went but so it seemed did everyone else in Summerland and I wasn't in the mood to fight threw a bunch of feral bargain hunters just to buy one pair of black pants. So to satisfy my spending urges Craig is going to pick me up from work and take me to WalMart, yes I'm one of those people who likes that store. I'm only getting storage stuff and some new bedding to use temporarily but hey it's still retail therapy.

House Update

Our building permits are submitted so we're just weeks away from breaking ground. It seems like it's taken forever but I'm sure that once work starts it'll be to lock up before we know it. This picture is the design we're roughly basing our house on it's L shaped so that we can maximise the space we have available on the lot. Sadly Luke can no longer build our house as he's too busy so Craig is going to take a few months off work and build it himself with the help of Dustin. I'm not sure how well that is going to work as when those two get together it's usually mayhem and they instantly become 4 year old boys. I have no doubt that some days I'll come home from work to find them in the trailer playing on the Xbox or watching a movie but hopefully they'll manage to get most of the building done by Christmas. It'll be strange not having Craig go to work and me being the sole breadwinner I wonder if I can take advantag of that and get my way more often? Probably not. Anyway I'm sure the next few months are going to be extremely stressful and busy but I'm looking forward to the housewarming party!

Why is Friday so long? Why have Nisha and I spent most of the morning reading the paper or surfing the internet because we have nothing else to do? Why am I blogging at work? The answer is BECAUSE OUR JOB SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
On a lighter note my Mum is back from holiday this weekend I've missed talking to her these past two weeks, although it's been good to hear more from my big sis instead.
