Walking in the Snow Part 2

I'm going a bit camera crazy at the moment so these random posts may continue for a while.

Walking in the snow

I had to walk home from work today and I happened to have the camera with me so I took a few pictures. just as I was about to capture all the Christmas lights on Main Street the camera said Card Full and so I had to be content with these rather pathetic shots of the park.

Cut your hair off and it makes you crazy!

Random Conversations in Bed

This morning Craig got a phone call to say that the house they were working on was inaccessible due to the snow so he was getting the day off. What resulted was an hour long random, meandering conversation, you know the ones I mean when it's dark and you just say whatever comes into your head as you're lying in bed. They're great and a lovely way to start the day but it they can also be really dangerous when your wife is emotionally unstable and feeling fragile and the husband is just real dumb! Suffice to say some things were taken the wrong way and sulking ensued (although it lasted all of ten seconds) The problem with starting your day off in such a nice way is that it doubly sucks when you have to get out of bed and get ready for work, especially when it's -3 and everything is buried under a huge pile of snow.

I DON'T WANT TO!

So Craig's catchphrase was back yesterday, pretty much every suggestion I made to him was greeted by the infamous words "I don't want to". It's so hard when he has these days where he's really lethargic and has no interest in doing anything. But fear not I've found a cure for the "I don't want to"'s go to the store and buy your own body weight in chips, candy and chocolate along with the ingredients to make Skor Bars and watch the smile appear on his face. Suffice to say I now have a cupboard full of junk food and my willpower is being severely tested but I intend to be strong for now at least.

The Party Season

I sense that the next few weeks are going to start getting really busy as Christmas fast approaches. Not only have I nowhere near finished shopping for presents there is also the endless round of Christmas parties to go to. Craig's boss gave me a ride to work this morning and informed me that their party is Dec 9th, it's a good job Albert did pick me up as Craig wouldn't have thought it important to let me know any details until an hour before we were due to be there. My work staff party is still yet to be arranged, plus we leave for Disneyland three weeks tomorrow. I feel tired just typing and we've still got to arrange a bible study party as well as all the millions of other things that seem to need to be done each week. Who needs sleep anyway!

Getting Broody

It seems that I'm thinking about having a baby more and more lately. Every small child I see or preganant woman makes me long to have a child of my own. It doesn't help when one of your friends is pregnant and you see the joy it brings. Usually this feeling subsides pretty quickly, especially when I encounter a particularily obnoxious child and I wonder why anyone would want to create something so vile, lately though the feeling persists regardless of how many horrible children I come across. I think my biological clock is officially ticking and I know that Craig's has for the past few months. We may be nearly ready to start a family of our own, but don't hold me to that it may just be my unpredictable hormones talking.

Extreme Moods

Isn't it weird how some days are just better than others even when you don't do anything different than normal. Today I love my job even though it is exactly the same as it was last week and the week before that. I was in such a bad mood yesterday every time Craig breathed in and out I wanted to rip his head off. Today I'm so happy I could burst I have no idea what these crazy moods swings are all about but I'm certainly enjoying today's more than yesterday's.

Guestbook

Thanks Christy for introducing the joys of a guestbook, now my family can leave me comments without having to join up as a blogger (I still think you should start one though Karen)

Nap TIme

This is my first blog entry all on my own as I've managed to wrest the laptop away from my blog addicted wife. After being in Osoyoos this morning for three and a half hours of work, I drove home stuck behind the slowest pump truck ever, it took me sooooo long to get home. I was carrying in the back of the van some pre-mixed material and my tools all ready to work on the house when I got home, so I pulled onto the driveway, got out of the van, walked up to the door, walked through the living room, into the bedroom, where I proceeded to put my pyjamas on, crawled into bed and slept for two hours until awoken by my beautiful, wonderful wife (just in case you're wondering my tools, the mud and the bucket are still in the back of the van awaiting to be hit with a hammer and cleaned up).

Afternoon naps are the best!

Feeling terrible

I feel like the worst person in the world. I went to Christy's house for lunch today with Amanda and we kinda ran over a little so it was 12.50 when I got back to work instead of 12.30 and wouldn't you know that my boss would be sat there waiting for me with a face like a thundercloud. I was so mortified, I felt like a naughty child about to be told off by my parent. After the predicted scolding she was really nice about it but I feel so guilty, I'm like that's it I can never leave the office at lunch time again just in case. I hate feeling guilty it just makes you feel so down and the feeling just won't seem to go away. This is divine retribution for eating those sinfully delicious Nanaimo bars at lunch.

Craig Wants To Blog

Initially when we set up this blog it was to so that our family in England could keep up to date with what was happening in our lives over here in Canada. Gradually though it changed from being this joint project, into it being completely mine. Craig never really gets any input into what goes on the blog, most of the time I won't even let him read the entries because they are about him. So I've decided to hand the blog back over to being for both of us, hence the addition of Dustin's blog on our links section. Craig was going to attempt to have his own blog but it would probably make no sense to anybody but him and me and perhaps Dustin who seems just as crazy as Craig. So watch this space for thoughts from Craig, I really can't wait to see what he'll write.

A New Blogger

Craig's big sister Lindsey wanted to post a comment on our blog and look where it led. Anyway check out her blog she has put some wedding photos on there which is great as Craig and I couldn't go. This blogging thing sure is contagious I need to convince my sister now to set one up so that I can have a constant supply of photos from home.

He Makes Me Smile

Do you ever just sit and smile when you think about your husband? I'm just sat here working away and an image of Craig came into my head and made me all warm and tingly inside and I couldn't wipe the smile off my face. I still find it incredible that such a sweet, kind, generous, loving man would choose to be with me. I'm so lucky and I'm glad that I don't take him for granted as he truly is amazing in all that he does for me. Yes he certainly makes me smile.

Memories of Summer

I'm just clearing out my computer at work as I seem to have so much junk saved on there. As I was doing this I came across a bunch of photos we took of Summerland over the summer for a presentation and they made me smile. I'd forgotten how beautiful it was and how much fun I had over summer, mainly due to my fabulous friends (you know who you are). I know these
pictures don't do justice to the town but I'm terrible with a camera.

One Day Strike

I'm looking forward to the long weekend, the joy of being able to stay in bed in the morning until after 6am. This week because I've been ill all I've wanted to do is lie in bed and have my Mum look after me. Unfortunately as a wife you can't do that anymore and I have to look after Craig who is just getting over his 'man flu'. So tomorrow I'm setting aside the day for myself, I'm going to sleep late, have a nice long bubble bath, get back in bed and read for a while and generally do what I want to do for a change. Luckily Craig will be working on the house so he shouldn't need me for anything. Yes tomorrow I officially go on strike for the day and I can't wait!

Brrrrrrrr!

OK so I know I've been saying how much I'm looing forward to the snow and today I have my wish the snow is seriously falling, but does it have to be so darn cold? I walked to work this morning which was OK but by the time I got to work my ears were completely numb and I was losing the feeling in my thighs. Now every time somebody walks through the door at work we get an icy blast of air from outside. On the plus side though it looks beautiful outside with the snow falling on Giants Head Mountain, so i gues you can't have everything but if someone could talk to God about the idea of warm snow that would be great!

Living For The Weekend

About a year ago Craig and I made a secision to stop living for the weekend. We'd gotten into a routine of getting up at 6am going to work, I'd get home at 6pm cook dinner, tidy up, watch TV for about an hour and then go to bed to start it all over again the next day. Each morning and evening we'd say I can't wait until Friday, we spent 5 days out of seven wishing for the other two. It felt like we were wishing our lives away so we made a concious decision to change that mind set and enjoy the weeks instead of trying to get through them as quickly as possible. We were doing pretty well at it until the last week or so when again we're living for the weekend. I'm sat here and I am thrilled that it's Friday and I can stay in bed tomorrow until 8am (the bliss!) So once again I need to force myself to appreciate the weeks and enjoy all of life, not just the parts that happen on Saturday and Sunday.

Needing A Girls Night

It feels like forever since I've seen any of my friends (it's only been since Sunday night, with the exception of a brief visit to WorkZone by Amanda). I know it's all my fault and that people invite me out but I say no but it's usually because I'm not feeling great or I'm too tired not beacuse I don't want to be with you guys. Amanda hasn't even been stalking me when she picks up the Church post so I'm feeling in serious need of a girls night out. We need to get dressed up and go out for cocktails, the men can babysit. I've only seen Angella once in about a month I'm beginning to forget what she looks like, thank goodness for blogs or I'd be seriously lonely.

My resolution is to make time to see friends during the week and to stop being so tired and miserable (it would help if the alarm would stop going off at 5am but I don't expect miracles)

Snow is falling

I'm on official snow watch now, for the past few days the snow has been falling on the mountains across the lake. It's great to be able to sit at my desk in work and watch the clouds lift to reveal the snowy peaks. I can't wait for it to reach us although when that happens I'll have to start walking more places as my beloved husband bought an entirely impractical car for me to drive. More and more places in town are starting to put up their Christmas things, winter is here and I'm loving it.

Vomiting Sucks!

Ok so I'm ill again! I feel like I'm constantly getting sick lately and of course being me, every time I get sick I vomit everywhere. This is a phenomeon that began at the age of 17, conincidentally it started roughly two days after Craig and I began to date. I went through a period of about three months where I would vomit after pretty much every meal, the resulting weight loss was great but the gross side effects (bad breath, puke in the hair etc) kinda ruined it. My family pretty much thought I was bullemic, which I wasn't (anyone seeing me today can testify that I'm certainly not in any danger of wasting away any time soon), the doctor chalked it up to stress gave me some pills and it eventually stopped (is it a conincidence that Craig and I broke up around the same time I think not!). As a result of this happy period in my life most times I get sick the first thing that happens is I feel nauseous and vomit. Today is one such day, I am sat in work and for the past 7 hours have been trying not to projectile vomit on people walking through the door. I know I should go home but there's a really important document I need to get finished today and so I can't leave until I'm certain it's OK. I was feeling so sorry for myself earlier that I rang my Mum, that made me feel much better. So here I am sat watching the clock go round and wishing for 4.30 ( it would have to be my longest day at work today). For those of you who are going to Maya's house tonight stay away from me you have been warned I'm diseased!

My First Trick or Treaters

Ok so in England trick or treating isn't the cute activity it is in Canada. Those people who go around knocking on people's doors are usually teenagers with no costume who have nothing better to do. Nor do they come expecting candy, no they want cash and woe betide anyone who tries to give them anything other than cold hard cash. So you can imagine my delight when last night there was a knock on the door. There I was in my pyjamas (it was only 6pm but never mind). I had a bowl of sweets at the ready, Simpsons ones for the kids, fat free jellies for the Mums. Guess who my one and only trick or treaters were? Ben and Megan plus Christy and Dustin obviously as Ben can't quite reach the pedals to drive the van yet. They looked so cute, although technically Megan wasn't in costume but that was OK.

It seems such a strange custom to wear strange clothes go to someones house and demand candy or else you'll do something bad to them (sounds like terrorism to me).

Anyway thank you Ben for being my first real trick or treater in full costume and everything.

Late as usual

Sorry about the total lack of halloween pictures so far, I promise I'll try and do them tonight, knowing me though it'll be Christmas before I get around to it.

Amanda is going to kill me!

OK so I asked Amanda to come in and speak as part of our Canada Career Week events at work. I didn't think much about it because our Small Business events pretty much panned and nobody came so I figured Amanda was safe and probably wouldn't have to speak. Well as of this morning we have a nice list of people who want to come and see Amanda this afternoon. Most of them probably won't show up but there are still going to be a few. If I'd have known how popular Amanda was going to be I'd have had her in for Small Business Week because that was just embarassing (sitting in a room with a guest speaker and just yourself is no fun let me tell you). So I'm looking forward to this afternoon I just hope Amanda doesn't hate me too much.

Another First

Tonight I'm going to my very first costume party and I'm like a child I'm so excited. It's strange how when you move to a different culture how many things hteay take for granted that you have never experienced. To everyone else here a costume party is an annual event, but for me it's a major deal and I've been stressing so much about what to wear that Craig and I actually argued about it (it was totally his fault as usual!). So watch out for the bizarre photos I'm sure to post in the next few days.

I was talking to some ladies at work today, I was teaching a workshop on Internet Basics and as usual we got off topic, for some reason we started talking about meatloaf and they were just stunned that I'd never had it. Sometimes I feel like such a freak and I have to keep reminding people that I'm English. When we planned to come out to Canada I just assumed that life would be the same, I mean Canadaians speak English (well sort of) and they have the same Queen as us so everything should be the same. I was totally unprepared for all the differences and not being able to buy the things I'm used to. I've all but stopped cooking because I hate grocery shopping, I can never find what I want although I'm using the TV ads to translate product names for example:

English Vs. Canadian
Lynx Deoderant is Axe Deoderant
Cif Cream is Vim Cream
Skor bar is Dime bar

The list is endless but it's only when they reuse the same advertising campaign that we realise that they are the same product with a different name. My biggest criticim of Canada though they don't sell Pepsi Max now that is just a crime against nature! (for those Canadians reading this you don't know what you're missing, it's the best Diet Pepsi drink ever)

House Hunting

Me and Amanda went to Christy's house today for lunch and we started talking about house hunting. It made me realise how much I miss having a house of my own and how I adore looking for houses to buy. There's something so satisfying about snooping around someone elses house and imagining all your things in there and what you would change about the place. I find myself doing it whereever I go not just in houses that are for sale. It's really hard being in a rented place which is brand new because there is nothing to do, I can't paint or change anything so it doesn't really feel like home. I can't wait until we find out for certain where we'll be living so that I can find my own place and feel at home again, not that our landlords will ever let us leave here.

Autumn Daze

I know I keep putting random pictures of autumn in Canada on my blog but I just can't get over how beautiful the fall is over here and how stunning and vivid the colours are. I really wish my Dad could be here to see it all, he would absolutely love it. So as you can't be here in person Dad I've taken it upon myself to take as many pictures as possible just for you.

I know, I know I'm no David Bailey and they are all of the same spot but that's because I keep forgetting to take my camera out with me so they all have to be taken from my doorstep. This is yet another thing that I'm not doing very well. I've been such a bad wife lately, I'm not tidying up, I've been going out most evenings and I'm sick of cooking, Craig is so lucky to have me.

Shopping Spree

I went shopping this morning and went kinda crazy. I ended up buying two pairs of shoes, two paris of socks, a skirt, three sweaters for me, one sweater for Craig, three CDs and two books. I thought it was about time I spoiled myself as Craig seems to buy a new dvd or computer games every week. It was great but I have to admit it's so long since I've been shopping that I'm absolutely exhausted now and am looking forward a quiet evening in.

Friendship

For the first time in my life I have true friends, people who I can bare my soul to and not feel ashamed or judged. People who make me laugh and cry and happy to just be around them. Plus they are all fantastic cooks and everyone knows how much I love food. It is still amazing to me how quickly they have accepted us and I feel like we've always known them.

Craig will always be my best friend, we can talk about anything, but having girls to talk to is so important. Plus going out and seeing other people gives Craig and I things to talk about, sometimes too much like on Thurday night, I'd been out all night babysitting with Amanda when I got home at 10pm we lay in bed for hours just talking, it was amazing (except when the alarm went off at 5.20am)

I've had such a hectic week, I've been out every night and home late most nights, then I've been in the gym before work. I really needed to blow off some steam and just go out and enjoy myself and right on cue Christy called to invite us out. Thanks you guys for a great evening I really needed it!

Living in the clouds

Craig took this photo yesterday after work because he thought the clouds looked really cool being so close to the ground.

It's so nice to be able to stand and appreciate these things.

I personally prefer today when the sun is shining and all the autumn colours make everywhere seem magical, not that you can see them in this picture. (I just looked out the window and thought it was raining but it isn't, it's just Ray watering our new lawn for us, he always seems to miss and hits the windows instead). Changing your whole life like we have really makes you stop and appreciate the things around you, Canada continues to surprise me as do my crazy friends and their unique children (Christy and Angella's lastest blog entries are proof of that). I think I'll always miss England but I'll never regret making the decision to come out here.

Weekend Again

It's amazing how quickly the weeks fly by. It's Friday again, weekend again. The weeks go by and it gets gradually colder and darker in the mornings, the leaves have changed colour and are starting to fall. I find it so weird that I've lived in Canada so long, it feels like just a few weeks in some respects. As I think more about how quickly the days pass I feel older and older, life just seems so short and I want to experience everything possible. We might be going away to the US for a weekend in November, it's crazy that we live so close to the border yet have never been across. I don't want to miss out on doing things, especially things that are readily available because we're stuck in a routine. I must be in a strange mood today I'm feeling all deep and philosphical although I'm trying not to bore you all with what's going through my mind. Anyway I'm going to go and make dinner and settle back into my routine.

Christmas is coming

I've officially started my Christmas shopping, by that I mean I've spoken to my sister and asked her what I should buy everybody. It's going to be great all I need to do is order online, have it shipped to my sister and she'll wrap it and make sure it goes to the right person. I will miss rummaging around the stores looking for just the right thing but it certainly is less stressful this way.

Check out my blog

I finally managed to do something different with my blog and add links. For those of you who have yet to see my crazy friends be prepared, especially for Amanda's bizarre photo collection.

The grossest movie I've ever seen

Somehow Craig managed to convince me that we should watch the film Saw last night and I've been traumatised ever since. For those of you who haven't seen it it contains some very pleasant scenes including one where a woman has a bear trap strapped to her head and if she doesn't unlock it before the timer goes of it will rip her jaw apart, the key just hapens to be in the stomach of the man locked in the cell with her and he isn't dead. This isn't even the worst part of the movie. There is a reason why I never usually watch films meant for anyone over the age of twelve. Suffice to say I can no longer sleep without the light on and am scared of the slightest shadow or movement, oh how I love my husband!

My Blog Is Boring

I'm officially sulking because my blog is boring compared to everyone elses. I still haven't managed to put any links on it so my family can see all my strange new friends and I'm bored with the background too. So I'm going to continue to sulk until someone teaches me how to make my blog better.

Revenge of the Mullet!

I'm contemplating having a haircut but after my previous experience of Canadian hairdressers I'm in terror of the whole process. Those of you who saw the monstrosity that was my last hairstyle can avouch for the fact that I did indeed have a Mullet! That's not the worst part though, I'd spent months trying to lose weight in order to go back to England looking slim, tanned and with beautiful flowing locks, instead thanks to stupid Canada I went to England fat, white and with a Mullet! Suffice to say everyone at home was not exposing on how amazing I looked and what a wonderful effect Canada has had on me, they were actually wondering what the hell was going on with my hair. So you can see why the prospect of once again placing myself at the whim of a sadistic Canadian hairdresser is almost more than a girl can handle.

Me At Work

This is my company and the reason why I haven't blogged all week. I know I always talk about how easy my job is but lately it's been harder, probably due to the fact that I'm now the boss. I'm beginning to realise just how much Koriena and Shelley did now that I have to do it all by myself (Jake doesn't count because he's a boy and so pretty much useless). By the time I get home, cook dinner, tidy the house and generally cater to Craig's every whim and desire I find I don't have time to do anything else but go to bed ready for the next day. Working full-time officially sucks!

For those of you who read my blog and don't live in Summerland this is my second home I feel like I'm here more than I am at home. I suppose I shouldn't complain because I do have a job and working around people all day who are wondering how they'll pay for their next meal certainly does put some things in perspective. Craig and I are so blessed we have everything we could wish for a loving family, fantastic friends and enough money to be able to enjoy life so life is pretty good at the moment.

Meet My Adopted Parents

No one can ever replace your Mum and Dad, it's an impossible task, but we do have adopted parents over here in Canada who look after us.

Meet Ray and Jeanette our Canadian parents, they treat us so well and it's comforting when my own Mum and Dad are so far away to have them here looking after us. I miss you Mum (and you too Dad) but don't worry we're well taken care of, you might even say we're spoilt.

I Don't Want To!

Four words I never want to hear again from my husband. All weekend Craig has been in a weird mood, he didn't want to do anything, not even go paintballing which is a miracle in itself. Every suggestion I made was met with the response 'I don't want to'. Eventually I did get him to move from the couch long enough to go out for a drive.

It was truly beautiful and I'm so glad Craig was finally persuaded to get off his backside and go out. I swear sometimes being married is worse than having children.

He's a hard worker

I feel like such a bad wife, here I am sitting watching a movie and blogging while my wonderful husband is outside working on the house. Every afternoon after a hard day at work he comes home and starts again on our house. He never asks me to help or complains that I get to stay inside while he has to work, he just gets on with it.

If I was a good wife I'd go outside right now and see if I can help in any way but that's probably not going to happen, I'll have to make it up to him somehow.

I'm a Happy Bunny

I'm a happy bunny, I've just been researching work visas and it looks like we may be able to stay in Canada until our permanent residence is sorted out. We'll still go back to England in February but just for a visit not for good. I'm really happy about this because my job is going well and we love it over here. So to everyone who has been thinking about us and praying for us thank you but don't stop yet as nothing is certain, but here's hoping.

Autumn is Coming...

Yesterday our Canadian parents, otherwise known as our landlords, wanted us to go with them to collect rocks for the garden. They've been away for the past three weekends and said that they'd missed us so we agreed to go, little knowing that we'd be gone all day and Craig would miss paintballing with the guys (I have to admit I didn't mind this too much but then I'm a bad wife). So we went out past Faulder to one of the most beautiful places I've ever been, unfortunately I took the camera so we now have lots and lots of random photos of trees and rocks and stuff.

As you can see I was lots of help when we got to the rocks!

Whilst taking some of these pictures I realised that we are in autumn now and that summer is really over (sob!). I have to admit though I'm looking forward to the snow so bring on winter!

So after our rock collection we went back and had a barbeque and watched a movie so it was pretty late when we actually got back to our suite, I think that we've spent enough time with them now for them to never want to see us again. It's not the same as having my own parents here but it sure is nice for them to look after us so well, we truly are blessed.

Disneyland here we come

Well I've finally booked our holiday so we are definitely going to Disneyland in December, I can't describe how excited I am. I think it's important to act like over-grown kids before you have children and have to at least pretend to be responsible. I just hope that Disneyland is ready for an over excited Craig because believe me he is certainly a handful!

Feeling abandoned

Now I know most people moan about their parents, myself included (sorry Mum), but when they aren't there it's really hard. Since moving to Canada I've gotten used to talking to my Mum on the phone at least every other day if not more. For the last week or so though there has been the resounding echo of silence in my living room each morning as the phone stubbornly refuses to ring. Before you all start getting too sympathetic or worried nothing bad has happened, my parents have gone on holiday, which I find incredibly selfish and inconsiderate of them. I truly feel that they should wait in at home all day in the vain hope that I will call and they can speak to me for a few wonderful minutes to brighten up their otherwise miserable and empty lives. It comes as somewhat of a blow to my ego to realise that no my parents don't exist simply to be at my beck and call they actually have wants, needs and desires of their own. Needless to say I have been feeling the effects of their absence this week and to make matters worse my beloved sister is also missing in action, every time I call her all I get is the repeated ringing of the line at the other end which I've been letting go on for a ridiculously long time just in case she happens to walk through the door as I'm calling and runs to pick up the phone. So all in all I've been completely abandoned by my family and have been filling the void with ice cream that wonderful substance that never lets you down, is always there for you and always makes you feel like the most beautiful person in the world. If by any chance any of my family reads this or is in any way interested in my life then give me a call!

My husband is amazing...

It's official I have the greatest husband in the whole wide world. It's no secret I've not been feeling too good lately and today I probably feel even worse than ever but I went to work anyway (that's dedication for you). When I got home my house was absolutely spotless, thanks entirely to my wonderful, thoughtful, loving husband who knows how anal I am about things being tidy. I love how much he spoils me, buys me stuff and generally treats me like a princess, which goes to show just how selfish and self-centred I am. Anyway I just wanted the entire world to know how amazing my husband is and how I love him with all my heart and I feel like the luckiest woman ever to be loved so unconditionally by him.

Ladies who lunch

One of my favourite things about working in Summerland is getting to go out for lunch with Amanda. When she rings or drops by to see me it brightens up my day and gives me something to look forward to. She may be an incredibly bad influence (she introduced me to these sinfully good macaroon madness things) but she really makes me laugh and make work days just that little bit more fun. Thanks Amanda for being a great luch buddy.

A Post Just For My Sister

Whenever I get a present or I buy anything new the very first thing I want to do is show my sister, she's my best friend and everything is better when I share it with her. As it's slightly impractical for me to pop round to her house and show her my gifts I'm improvising, so Karen this posting is just for you (everyone else that means you can stop reading as it's just boring girlie stuff).

So last night Ray and Jeanette (our landlords) took us out for a meal, afterwards we went to London Drugs (it's kind of like Boots) to look for a mulit-region DVD player for them. Well while we were there I got distracted by the cosmetics department, in particular the Elizabeth Arden counter. As Craig hadn't bought me anything for our anniversary he just told me to pick something as he wanted to get me a present. That was a big mistake on his part as I couldn't decide and so I got.....

A moisturising gift set for all my dry bits, I think I may be turning into you though because I mainly just wanted this for the bag it came in. I also got......

A chemical face peel kit, which is really cool, it's made with Chardonnay wine and it smells fantastic, although I hope it doesn't burn too much. I really wish you could help me do this you know that I'm useless at this kind of stuff, I'll probably burn half my face off. Finally I got two of these.....

Again I really loved the bag, it's got perfume, eyeshadow, lipstick, plumping stuff for your lips, anti-aging cream and eight hour cream.

So suffice to say Craig earned lots of brownie points and I'm being ultra nice to him at the moment, although how long that'll last is anyone's guess. I know it's not quite the same as doing it in person but at least I feel like I've shared it all with you, I really miss you and love you more than anything. Speak to you soon sis!

I have a big decision to make and I really don't know what to do. I have been offered full-time hours at work and I don't know whether to take it or not. My initial reaction when I was asked was not in a million years, I love having Friday off to do whatever I like. The problem is not that simple though as my decision doesn't just affect me. Basically a colleague of mine in Penticton is currently doing admin work and really wants to move into facilitation, which is what I do, as it's more interesting and more money. If I take the extra hours they would have the opportunity to work in Summerland with us two days a week, if I don't then they'll advertise for someone to work three days a week. So now I have to decide if having Friday off is important enough to disappoint someone else and prevent them from getting the job they really want. It's pretty obvious that I'm going to have to take the extra hours I don't rally have a choice. Anyway sorry for the rant It's pretty much all I've been thinking about all day.

Lazy Days

It's been a pretty quiet day today, Craig's been at work so I've had a whole day all to myself. I've managed to keep busy mostly with housework and the CSI marathon on TV although I really have to stop watching so much CSI as I'm becoming paranoid, every hump of dirt in the garden is obviously a dead body and every shadow is clearly a serial killer coming to get me. Even now though I'm sat watching said programme freaking myself out, I'm such a glutton for punishment.

It's a sick day

As all women know when a man gets ill then it is the end of the world as we know it. They don't just get a cold, they get the flu and a sneeze means they are dying.

Case in point, my husband. He has a sore throat and feels a little stuffy, to most people this would probably mean they were getting a slight head cold, but oh no Craig is clearly dying and there is nothing I can do to make him better except to be at his beck and call and to do every little thing he asks of me. He's refusing to let me go and get him some medicine or anything because that would mean he'd have to stop milking his illness for everything it's worth. Anyway I can see that the rest of my day will be completely taken up with stroking his hair and making cups of tea. Oh well I guess that's love.

The Hustler

Craig has been playing quite a bit of pool lately and I have to admit he's pretty good at it, until he has to play in front of someone other than me and then he's TERRIBLE! It's so funny he acts all cocky expecting every shot to go in like it usually does and he just ends up looking stupid, oh well I still love you honey. Things could be worse for him he could be as bad a player as I am.
