So much news

So we've arrived safely in England, it's been a crazy few days, we sold our house within 3 hours of it being on the market and for a cash offer more than the asking price. More importantly however is all the news from Canada, Angella pregnant, Megan giving hugs, Amanda considering names other than Annalise, Jen not blogging everyday, truly the workd has gone mad.

I've got to go read my beautiful neice Alex and my nephew Benjamin a story. I'll try and blog again soon

Probably My Last Post

I just wanted to bid everyone a fond farewell as we head of to sunny England tomorrow. This will probably be my last post in a long time so try not to miss me too much and make sure you blog about EVERYTHING so if I do have access to a computer I won't have missed too much. See you all soon!

What's In A Name?

With all the pregancies and potential pregnancies in Summerland at the moment there has been much discussion amongst the ladies about baby names. Personally I like to know what a name means as I think that this is just as important as how it sounds. For my birthday Angella made me a card that had the meaning of my name on it:

Adele: 'noble cheer'.
Self-sacrificing, cultured, gentle.
Suited for an early marriage.
Has intelligence and will-power.
Craig says that this suits me perfectly (i'm not quite sure). I know that Craig means rock, steadfast and dependable and I know that that is certainly Craig. It's strange how sometimes the names our parents pick for us can be so perfect for us. So for all you mothers to be remember to check the meanings of the names first because it'll be your own fault if you name your child something that means 'little rascal'. Hmmm I wonder what Annelise means.

Happy Birthday Princess

The most beautiful girl in the whole world is 4 today. I can't wait to see her and all my other nieces and nephews in just a few days. but for now Happy Birthday Alex!!!!!!!

Welcome to the World of Blogging

We have another poor soul whose life will soon be incomplete without her daily dose of blogging. I really enjoyed getting to know Julie when she was here over summer and would have loved to catch up with her on her trip to Summerland but unfortunately I'll be England. I'm looking forward to learning more about her life in Calgary and seeing plenty of pictures of her little bundle, otherwise known as William.

George Clooney Is Here It's Official

I know we've all been expecting Mr Clooney in town because of the movie shooting in Peachland but it is now official he has been spotted. Some of our clients work down at the Waterfront Resort and one of them happened to "accidentally" walk into his room when he was there. I doubt very much that we'll see him out and about in Summerland but he is definitely here. Just thought I'd let you all now the latest gossip in the hot bed of action and excitement that is Summerland. It certainly is amazing the things you learn working in my job, 99% of things I can't share with you guys for privacy reasons but believe me there is some juicy stuff that goes on in this little town of ours.

Template Nightmare

I found a new template that I really liked and was merrily working away on it when I discovered that it didn't allow you to leave comments. Needless to say that one was immediately discarded. Oh well the search continues.

Playing Around

i'm loking for a new template so I'm going to try a few new ones throughout the day. I'm not very good at this so you may not be able to leave comments and stff. Sorry!

Updating my links

I want to update my links and add on all the blogs that I read but I don't know all the people who's blogs I read. Is it weird to put them on my links list when I don't really know them? Or does the fact that we've left comments for each other mean we're now introduced? Someone should write a book on blogging etiquette.

Out of the Loop

It's crazy how much happens in blogger world in just two days. I've been really busy with work this week and I have meetings for most of the rest of the week so I've been neglecting my blog (oh the shame). When I went to check today I was amazed by how much goes on in such a short space of time, I had no idea Amanda was having a poll on the sex of her baby (23 comments you're so famous), who knew that Christy was ill, that Jen made cupcakes and Angella ate at McDonalds (not that salad consitutes eating). It's only when you don't have access to a computer that you realise what a large part of our lives and friendships this whole world has become. I'm going to miss it so much when we go to England, a whole 3 weeks without blogging, how will I survive?

The Lights Went Out

We just had a power cut at work, it only lasted a few seconds but unfortunately the repercussions will take slightly longer to sort out. We have a particularly stubbon printer which you cannot turn off on pain of death, unfortunately the utility company doesn't respect this rule when they cut the power, so now I have the joy of trying to reboot this stupid printer using an ancient disk that doesn't work 50% of the time, whilst calmly explaining to clients that no they can't print out right now as the printer has had a nervous breakdown.

Somebody remind me why I work again please!

Our first couches

Today is a momentous occasion as we bought our very first couches. We were only going to go to United Furniture Warehouse to look around as Amanda and Steve got such a great deal. We came out with 2 sofas, the world's hugest ottoman and a glider rocker and ottoman (the same as Amanda's). I had absolutely no intention of buying this stuff but it was such a good deal that we couldn't say no. It will get delivered after we come back from England, except for the ottoman which we brought with us today because it's sooooo comfy.

I Need A Kodak Moment

I'm beginning to realise just how few photographs I have of my life up to this point and how much you can forget if there is no record of it to spark your memory. After talking to my Mum this morning, who always fills me in on the lives of my brothers and sisters (including inlaws) and their broods of children, I realised how much I miss being able to look at them. The only pictures I have of my brother are from my wedding 31/2 years ago and the only reason I have more of my sister is that we went on holiday together. The kids have probably grown 3ft each this year and I have no idea how they've changed. So I'm campaigning for more photos in my life, if anyone in England still reads the drivel I write then what I want for my birthday is a photo album with photos of all the family and any of me before the age of 21 when I had to have photos taken at my wedding. Honestly if aliens landed and looked through my things they'd probably think I was born an adult as there is absolutely no record of me before then. My Mum and Dad have the obligatory embarassing baby pictures up to me being an awkward, gawky teenager when it was just too embarassing for them to admit to having spawned me so they stopped taking my picture. I have up all the pictures I have of my sister's kids and whenever I go to my fridge of look at the TV there they are smiling back at me and it makes me happy, my brother however is lagging behind. So from now on I'm demanding monthly photo updates of the kids (and the parents if you want to) so that I can prove that I have a family when aliens land.

Do You Really Want To Get To Know Me Better?

I too have received the endless list of questions to which I don't really have any interesting answers, maybe this is a test to prove how boring you really are (believe me I pass with flying colours) Anyway I'm at work so I can't answer them all here, not that you'd really want to read them again but I've had lots of fun reading everyone elses.

My Birthday's End

I had such a lovely evening with Craig last night. He turned up to work with a bouquet of flowers that he'd selected each individual stem and had them put together. We just kinda hung out together and laughed watched trashy TV and ate sandwiches (we didn't have all the ingredients for Cheesy Bean which is kinda sad since there are only 3). Later we went upstairs where I was spoilt with lots of presents and a cake that Jeanette had baked for me. The night ended with the obligatory episode of McGyver (sometime it can be Friends) being watched by Craig while I fall asleep.

I had such a good day even though nothing really happened and I get to still look forward to the girls night tomorrow, how spoilt can one girl be!

My Birthday So Far

Well my birthday got off to a pretty crappy start when I had to get up at 5.30am with Craig because he's working down in Osoyoos, to his credit he told me to stay in bed but I like to make sure he has a proper lunch made. So after forcing myself to walk to work there was a message from Nisha saying she was sick today and somebody was coming to fill in from Penticton. This sucked because I really like working with Nisha plus the girl they sent from Penticton pretty much drives me insane, and this is the day when we work until 4.30 aaaaahhhhhhhhh.

The day got better though when I had my first visitor in the form of Angella, who came bearing gifts and her usual sunny disposition which cheered me up nicely (it was Angella and not the gift that cheered me up by the way) THen I had a truly amazing rendition of Happy Birthday sung to me by the craziest Church Secretary I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. THen Shelley and Joshua arrived to take me to Zias for lunch (yes I did have the Chicken Pita because I'm so predictable) And that pretty much takes us up to date, oh yeah and my Canadian Dad Ray phoned to wish me a Happy Birthday which was nice. So this afternoon I'm content, very full and looking forward to opening my gifts when I get home.

Hope you guys are having as good a day as I am

Welcome Home Christy

I was walking past Tim Hortons this morning on my daily walk to work when I noticed a very familiar green van sitting in it's usual parking space and my heart lifted. This aforementioned van has been missing for almost two weeks and has been a daily reminder that someone has been absent in our lives. Christy is home!!!!! It's good to have you back Christy I'm looking forward to hearing all about your trip. I think Amanda has missed you even more than me because she's had to put up with me and the joys of WorkZone since you've been gone.

Move Over Picasso

When thinking of tasks to fill our day here at WorkZone why is it that the first thing that came to mind was making a larger than life cruise ship using only coloured paper, scissors, glue, double sided tape and a black marker pen? Suffice to say it is an amazing piece of artwork to behold made entirely by my own fair hand, those of you in town should come out specially to see the fruits of my extremely busy and difficult morning.

Another Domestic Goddess

It's been said by many of us that Amanda is a domestic goddess with her never ending supply of to die for dessert ideas. Yesterday however I was in dire need of an interesting way to feed my husband vegetables (this is getting increasingly difficult) my first thought Angella

Angella and Matt were gracious enough to invite us round for a Christmas dinner last year (little suspecting just how much food we were able to consume in one sitting). Anyway one of the items on the menu was this vegetable bake thingie that was just delicious. Yesterday morning I got a sudden craving for said dish and quickly emailed Angella in the hopes that she could send the recipe ASAP. Luckily this domestic goddess is also a pretty amazing friend and so there the recipe was waiting in my inbox in time for me to buy the ingredients. Suffice to say Craig was pretty happy with me last night, not only did I make this fantastic dish, I also made 3 dozen sugar cookies (I'm trying to catch up in the domestic race) So Angella thank you for your recipe (which I took entire credit for from my husband) and for being the incredible woman you are!

Countdown to England

Craig and I were lay in bed last night when it suddenly hit us how soon it is until we go back to England. Actually it hit Craig as he said "Cool, we go to England in like two weeks", never let it be said that my husband doesn't state the obvious. It's weird though last week we thought we were going back for good and now just a few days later everything is different and it's just a holiday. I never could have dreamed 18 months ago all the changes my life has taken and where God has taken us. It's so exciting to contemplate the next 50 years and all the things we're going to see and experience and all the people we get to share those things with.

It's kinda scary going back to England and seeing everyone again, not least because I've put on weight and feel like a hippo at the moment. I feel tired just contemplating how busy this visit will be and the number of people we've got to spend time with, part of me just wants to lock myself in my house and stay there for two weeks, but I won't.

18 days and counting!

Leaving my Husband

I've decided to remove Craig from a large and quite important part of my life. What I hear you cry is she talking about? Well I'm working on changing my profile and I decided to take Craig off because lets face it it's my blog now. So we are officially divorcing in blogger world, try not to get too upset.

You Have To See This

This is so funny you have to have sound to fully appreciate the genius, my favourite is the guy in the background who seems completely oblivious.Just click on this you have to press download and then manually download or it doesn't seem to work. Enjoy.

Leaky Plumbing

So lately I've been peeing on a regular basis, every 30 minutes to be exact, mainly due to the fact that I drink 2-3 litres of water a day. I've adapted to expect this regularity but since I've been trying to detox (the past three days) my bladder seems to have shrunk to the size of a pea. Seriously I went before bed last night then woke up twice during the night with such a full bladder I thought I would explode. I wouldn't mind this if I was feeling or looking any better but today I woke up feeling crappy and having a major fat day. Why am I eating all this hideous soup????
